a fusion of east and west cuisine, amid a chic, interesting interior. they have a few things for vegetarians - the wheat gluten rice (RMB20), a healthy serving of rice with bean curd, gluten and mushroom in gravy. comes with lettuce salad and soup (they used chicken broth though, so remember to tell the waitress to omit use vege stock instead) love the potato combos too (RMB18)- french fries, hash browns and corn french fries. array of drinks too, from pearl milk shake to herbal teas hot or cold. they have selection of salad too. we dined on the second floor, where the swings are. so we had a swingin lunch time.
the wheat gluten rice, the garden salad with special green dressing which i havent quite figured out what it’s made from (im guessin avocado with something else), and the oh so ymmy chocolate waffles (RMB19)! cant wait to try all of their different drink concoctions.

the ambience is typical chinese resto - big, round tables, red and gold color, chinese decors. they have beancurd for vegetarians and the veggie curry which is good for 3-4 ppl. it doesnt come with rice though so u have to order for one. curry costs around 28RMB + rice at 3RMB = a yummy curry meal thats not so heavy in the pocket. drinks are from 10-15 RMB
While waiting for our train to Dongguan, we hopped in to a nice restaurant to have refreshments. Look at the way this waiter poured hot water into the bowl of Chinese tea leaves. It sure didn’t just amaze the kid!
Dongguan is located in the middle part of Guangdong Province in South China occupying a pivotal position in the industrial region of the Pearl River Delta. Its boundaries stretch from Guangzhou in the North to ZhongShan in the West and Shenzhen in the South comprising a total of 32 towns. Dongguan is 50 kilometers away from Guangzhou, 90 kilometers from Hong Kong (47 sea miles away from Hong Kong by ferry) and a mere 25 minutes train journey from Shenzhen’s central railway station. It is well served with airports (Guangzhou and Hong Kong plus Shenzhen for internal flights), railways, ports and buses routes. Unless you get a kick out of boundless extensions of factories and choca-block buildings landscapes, Dongguan is no leisure and tourist spot! In recent years, golf courses, KTVs and saunas cum massage parlors (some of the biggest ones have palatial dimensions and employ several hundred masseuses) have been mushrooming to cater for the increasing population which now has reached well over 7 million.

The Oliver Garden Hotel (Huashang shangwu lugaun) is a three star hotel invest by Taiwan. This is a garden hotel which located not far from the Dongguan city center, about 40km from the airport and railway station. There is a hotel bus to the Hong Kong International Airport, about 3.5 hours.
The Golden Lake Hotel (Jinhu jiudian) is a four star hotel located in Tangxia Village. It is about 30 minutes drive to Shenzhen and 1.5 hour to Guangzhou airport.
The Dongguan Hillside Hotel (Dongguan shanzhuang) is situated in the heart of Dongguan’s Central Business District, close to the Guangzhou-Shenzhen expressway. It is less than an hour’s travelling time to Guangzhou or Shenzhen, and a mere 30 minutes from Shilong railway station or Taiping ferry terminal. In addition, there are regular daily air-conditioned coach services between the Hotel and Hong Kong
The Taiping Holiday Hotel (Taiping jiari jiudian) located by the side of the beautiful Pearl River. It is about 40km from the airport and 40km away from the railway station.
