The Fujian Foreign Trade Center Hotel (Waimao zhongxin jiudian), a five star hotel located in the center of the city, is about 60km from the airport and 3km from the railway station. This attractive hotel, with good location, was built in 1985 and has been renovated and rebuilt a few times since then. The hotel has two seven storey towers: the original northern section and a newly built southern section, completed in 1996.

The hotel now contains almost 400, well decorated and fully furnished, rooms, all provided with 24 hour hot spring water. The rooms have CNN and BBC, as well as in-room safes and air conditioning.

The restaurants here are good, with French, Japanese, Cantonese, Huaiyang, and Fujianese cuisine all on offer. European fare is presented in the Windsor Grillroom, Chinese cuisine is best tried in the “Palace” Chinese Restaurant, and the Mastufuku provides a good range of Japanese dishes.

The hotel also provides a huge indoor swimming pool, tennis court, gym and sauna center as well as a good bookstore and the Famous Product House, a shop selling various brand-name products. For business travelers the hotel business center provides a full range of secretarial services.
