about the easiest to get to. Take the KCR train to
Tai Po, then bus #75K to Tai Mei Tuk Terminal.

lOOm farther on and take Hoi Ha Road on the left
- from here it’s a forty-minute walk. Great for
access to Hong Kong’s cleanest, most secluded

Tsim Sha Tsui, too.

ed and quiet beach, with a delightful terraced
restaurant.
Lamina Vacation House 29 Main St, Yung Shue

walk from the ferry pier, with Chungking
Mansions-sized rooms offering a very cheap way
of staying on the island.
Pak Sba o Hostel Pak Sba O, Hoi Ha Rd, Sai
Kung, New Territories 2328 2327. Take bus #94
paved footpath south, away from the Tiao Tan
Buddha and past the public toilets. It’s a ten-
minute walk and well signposted. This is a great
base for hill walking on Lantau, and you can eat at
the nearby Po Lin Monastery. It’s cold on winter
nights, though - bring a sleeping bag. Dorms $85
