Tucked away in an Edwardian-style building behind a small park in Midlevels, this museum is worth the climb through tiny backstreets for anyone interested in the history of Chinese medicine in Hong Kong. Exhibits compare the uses of Chinese and Western medicines and show Chinese medicines of both animal and herbal origin as well as a traditional Chinese medical practitioner’s equipment. Several other rooms are devoted to Western medical subjects. To get here from Hollywood Road, follow Ladder Street behind Man Mo Temple, going south and uphill to Square Street, which veers right, then left to Caine Lane. Follow a circular path up about 300 feet around Caine Lane Garden, a park with colorful stucco structures, until you reach Number 2.
