Jiangxi Provincial Museum
jiangxi provincial museum The museum preparatory department was founded in March of 1953, the museum display building began to construct to the south of the August First Square in July of 1957 and the Museum was formally open to the public in July first of 1961. In 1978, Jiangxi Revolution History Museum was renamed as Jiangxi Revolutionary Museum, and Jiangxi Provincial Museum was renamed as Jiangxi Historical Museum, and then the two museums were merged into one and named as Jiangxi Provincial Museum In 1981. After 50 years hard trying, the Museum has become a largcomprehensive museum in the world.
The new Jiangxi Provincial Museum situates on a new sand bar that is rounded by the Gan River and Fu River, it lies east to Fu River, south to Zhongshan Bridge, west to Gan River and north to Tengwang Pavilion, which is the one of the three famous buildings to the south of the Yangze River. The new museum covers 399.996 are,its constructing area is 35 thousand square metres and the exhibition hall area is 13 thousand square metres. This big comprehensive museum consists of three parts of historic museum, revolutionary museum and natural museum, what is first seen in the country

Jiangxi Museum

The Jiangxi Museum is located in Xinzhou, south of Tengwang Tower, with an area of four hectares and a floor space of 6,000 square meters. It collects 100,000 relics, including ancient pottery ware, bronze ware, calligraphy and paintings, ancient books and historical records, local chronicles, and inscribed tablets. Among the valuable historical relics some are national treasures, including 1,000 pieces of relics unearthed from the ruins of the Shang Dynasty; 1,000 bronze ware, jade ware, and pottery ware unearthed from the ruins of the Shang Dynasty; relics unearthed from the ruins at Tongling arid Ruichang; 200 pieces of relics unearthed from Guixiya; and pottery ware unearthed from the ruins of past dynasties.
