The long-distance bus stations are pretty seedy-looking, and big noses will attract a Jot of attention. Both Anyang and Zhengzhou (RMB15) are only about ninety minutes away. The west station sells tickets to destinations west of the city such as Luoyang and Xi’an; the main station farther south serves all other destinations. You can buy tickets from the booking offices (daily 7am-6pm) or on the bus itself.
Most of the city’s bus routes begin outside the train station. Bus #1 goes from here north up Yingbin Lu, then along Zhongshan Lu, skirts Panjia Hu and continues to the north section of the wall, terminating on Beimen Dajie at a second, small bus terminus. To get to the centre from the station, take bus #4, which runs up Yingbin Lu, then traverses the
length of the town along Sihou Jie. Bus #3 is also useful, travelling from lron Pagoda Park down the street that begins as Beimen Dajie, and ending up at the train station.
