Kaifeng is located on the vast Eastern Henan Plain, and the seasons here are clearly
defined. Thankfully the town enjoys a modest temperature all year round. Most of the
rainfall here falls in the summer, peaking in July, and this time is probably best
avoided. Apart from this time, Kaifang is visitiable throughout the year, the best time
probably being in autumn when the weather is exceptionally good, and when the chryanthemum
are in bloom.
