Major railways pass Liaoning province including the Beijing-Harbin Line, Shenyang-Dalian Line, Shenyang-Jilin Line and Shenyang-Dandong Line. Shenyang is conveniently a railroad junction with many direct trains to and from most major cities, while Dalian is not so easily reachable from the south as it is set at the southern tip of the Liaoning Peninsula.
