HONG KONG and Macao residents who lose their passports or ID cards on the Chinese mainland have been able to apply for exit permits in Shenzhen and Zhuhai since Aug. 15, the Shenzhen Municipal Public Security Bureau announced Friday (August 25th).

Macau PoliceSuch exit permits can be applied either in two visa offices or authorized travel agencies in Shenzhen and Zhuhai. One of the visa offices is in Luohu Checkpoint, Shenzhen and the other in Gongbei Checkpoint, Zhuhai.

The Shenzhen office of the China Travel Service Hong Kong is authorized to apply for exit permits for those needed. (Address: C4, 2nd floor, Shenzhen railway station. Tel: 0755-8232-8679. Office hour: 8:30 a.m. to 21:30 p.m.)

China Travel Service Gongbei Port Guangdong Co. Ltd is the other authorized travel agency. (Address: A06, ground floor, checkpoint building, No.1001, Yingbin Road South, Zhuhai. Tel: 0756-816-7052, 1392-6933-740. Office hour: 8:30 a.m. to 21:30 p.m.)

A loss certificate issued by police or a written statement by the owner is required by the visa offices, while no such document will be asked by the authorized travel agencies.
