Frommer’s Review
Although this brightly lit and often crowded restaurant just south of the Confucian Temple at Fuzi Miao features typical Huiyong dishes, put down the menu and treat yourself, sight unseen, to the specialty here: bajush. Sixteen of Nanjing’s traditional appetizers and meat dishes will arrive in pairs, one a dry dish, another in a soup. A tiny sliver of succulent pork rib will be served with shredded bean curd in a chicken broth; a lotus paste bun will arrive with a bowl of glutinous rice in wine. This set is available at lunch and dinner. In the evenings, you’ll be treated to local folk dancing on the second floor by the restaurant’s staff.
