Tourist groups are often taken to the Baisha Production Brigade, affording an opportunity to see a productive commune in the tropics.
A trip to the Yiling Stalactite Cave is also of interest. Located a pleasant hour’s ride north of the city, this huge cave boasts artificially lighted formations bearing the sobriquets “bumper harvest,” “fruit bowl,” and “city skyline.” Nan Hu (South Lake) Gardens are also on the itinerary, as is a visit to the Nanning Arts Institute, which exhibits some of China’s most colorful minority arts and crafts. Examples of local crafts include bambooware, lacquerware, and wood and stone carvings.

Day1: Nanning–Shanglin Shan Li town–Zhicheng Ruined City
| Go to Shanglin County Shan Li town from Nanning by bus at 07:30 A.M. Visit the Xu Xia Ke footmark Historical Museum with a pleasant view of the “Mo Ya Shi Ke”(carved stone). Have a spectacular views of the landscape of the Qing Shui River by bamboo raft, enjoy the karst style rural scene in the middle of Guangxi. At noon a delicious meal will be served in the Zhicheng Mountain Qingshu Lou(a restaurant with unique architectural style) in which you can enjoy a gentler environment and a glory landscape. After lunch, take a comfortable ride by Zhuang Minority’s royal gharry to the Zhicheng rural area for some gorgeous views of the unique Zhicheng Ruined City(claim to be the No.1 mountainous city in Asia). Have supper at Qingshu Lou. Accommodation at the county. |  |
ssAfter breakfast go to Dalong Lake, enroute overlook “Shui Mei Ren”(a mountain looks like a sleeping beauty) and “Shishen Renmian San”(a mountain look like the Sphinx). The arrival time at Dalong Lake dock is about 10:00 am. Then view the beautiful scenes of the Dalong Cave’s entrance: “Mianyang Yingbin”–sheep welcoming guest, “Tianma Xiangqin”. At about 10:30 a pleasant cruise around Dalong Lake with some spectacular views of the scenic spots such as “Qianlong Luji”–looks like a dragon diving under the water, you can only see its back, “Shenli Yangbin”–clever carp welcoming guests, “Longwang Xie”–Dragon King’s shoe, Penguin Mountain, a peacock in his pride, fisherman’s family on the lakefront, sea lion and tortoise, Li Shi Zhen collecting herbal medicine, little elephant drinking water, “HuTou Shan”–a mountain look like a tiger’s head, and “Long Nu” Peak. Have lunch at Xiyan Town national restaurant. In the afternoon go back to Nanning.
