Ningbo has many shops, department stores, and markets to choose from. Clothing is an especially good buy in Ningbo, as the city is a major garment manufacturing center. Most of the shopping is in the center of the city, near Tian Yi Square. Prices are posted at the department stores and regular shops, but at the markets, you will need to haggle with the shopkeepers. Identical goods are usually available from several places, so be sure to shop around before you buy.
The Antiques Market is located on Zhongshan Road , very close to Gu Lou.
It’s an old traditional Chinese building with many small shops inside. Outside, small vendors sell their products on blankets on the ground. Inside are normal shops. There are very nice goods for sale here. However, when buying antiques, beware of fakes.
