This tiny freckle of land that stretches into Qingdao Bay just south of the Zhanqiao Pier rates as one of the area’s most popular tourist stops. Despite being refered to as an island it is accessible via a lean stretch of land. A German lighthouse built in 1900 glows as its main attraction. A surrounding park thick with peach and cherry trees, rose bushes and the rare Qingdao Lily (it grows only in southern Shandong) staggers the mind with a profusion of color and aromas during spring.
