Near the outskirts of Shanghai in the southwest, Minhang District covers 372 square kilometers. It’s proximity to Hongqiao Airport and Huangpu River, which runs through the area from north to south, contribute to the convenience of the transportation of the area. Three modern industrial zones such as Shanghai Xinzhuang Industrial Zone enhance the economic development of Minhang District, which has attracted the investment of more than 40 countries.

Minhang District has recently become a new housing alternative to the Hongqiao District. With the completion of the subway and easy access via the expressway, this district has grown significantly in the past few years. There are a number of villa compounds and townhouses in the district, which are within a few minutes drive of the Shanghai American School and the Shanghai International School. Because it is further away, the prices are cheaper than villas closer to downtown.
