Sadly, eating in Shenyang is a bit of a let-down - there aren’t nearly enough
places where you can sample fine northeastern cuisine, honica]iy, it’s perfectly
straightforward to get Western fast food. Of the many KFCs here, the closest
one to the South station is lOOm away on Zhonghua Lu, with another one
around the corner on TaiyuanJie. McDonld’s is on Zhong Jie, next door to yet
another KFC.
Laobian Eating House 6 Zhong Jie
024/24843956 ext 621. Shenyang’s most famous restaurant, whose noted jiaozicost ~50 for ajin, though you can order a fraction of that and pay accordingly, prior to arrival of your food. The restaurant may be famous, but its decor and service are terrible. The branch at 55 Shengli Beijie, across from the Peace Hotel, is better.
Meiahli Korean RBD 62 Kunming Beijie, They serve zaocha here, a sweet, fruity tea that goes well with platefuls of beef and bottles of beer.
Excellent service and inexpensive - dinner for two costs around RMB50. It’s easily spotted as it’s next door to a USA Beef Noodle King, signed in English.
Meiiin Jiudian 109 Hoping Beidajie. Specializes in Shanghai-style vegetarian dishes, with pleasant staff and decor.
Tianjin Yu Gang Er Bu Inside the Liaoning Tiyuguan Binguan, 284 Qinguiao Lu. Shenyaog’s most popular fish restaurant; dinner for two here comes to around RMB100.
