Most travellers can conclude their tour in Shijiazhuang within one day, with no need for accommodation. This does not mean the city is short of beds or worth staying in for a night or two for the sights out of town. Shijiazhuang has a wide selection of hotels, among which a dozen are star-rated or have star rated facilities. Since most of the sights are at the outskirts of Shijiazhuang, you need to check the map first before you unload your luggage. The hotels in Shijiazhuang are also not great on budget accommodation, although not as bad as many provincial capitals.
The best hotels in the city are the Hebei Grand Hotel, the International Hotel (Guoji dasha, Tel: 0311-6047888) at 23 Chang’an xilu, and the Hebei Sunshine Hotel. The Hebei Grand comes out slightly on top, mainly for its location, in the nicer sections of eastern Shijiazhuang. All of these three are favoured by tour groups, making them very popular on weekends and during national holidays.
At the mid-price range (around RMB200), there are a number of options. Best of these are the friendly and clean Bailin Hotel (Bailin dasha, Tel: 0311-7021398) at 24 Chezhan jie, the stylish Zhongjing Grand Hotel, the Silver Spring Hotel (Yinquan fandian, Tel: 0311-7026981) at 12 Zhanqian jie, and the central Bailou Hotel.
At the bottom end (under RMB100), the two best options, by far, are the fairly central Wujin Hotel (Wujin binguan, Tel: 0311-8626002) at 49 Shengli nanlu, and the clean and simple Hebei Teachers University (Shifan daxue, on Yuhua lu) foreign experts dorm (Zhuanjia lou) doubles.
The Bailou Hotel (Bailou binguan) is of four star facilities, and is located in the city center, only half kilometer away from the most flourishing business area, Zhongshan Road. It is about 1km from the railway station and about half an hour’s drive from the airport.The hotel has 258 rooms and suites, all of which are equipped with (at minimum) air-conditioning, colour televisions, telephones and refrigerators.
The Guobin Hotel (Guobin dajiudian) is a three star hotel located in the Shijiazhuang business center. It is about 25 minutes drive to the airport and 1.5km from the railway station. The hotel boasts a total of 240 guestrooms, all equipped with air conditioning system, satellite TV and internet access.There are several restaurants within the hotel, mainly serving Cantonese and Fujian cuisine.
The Hebei Century Hotel (Hebei shiji dafandian) is a four star facilities hotel located in the business center of Shijiazhuang. It is about 40km from the airport and the railway station is within walking distance.This 29 storey hotel offers 434 well appointed guestrooms and suites, encompassing standard or deluxe rooms and suites. All the rooms contain a private bath, satellite TV, IDD telephones, air-conditioning, mini bars and refrigerators.
Hebei Grand Hotel 
The Hebei Grand Hotel (Hebei binguan) is Shijiazhuang’s most luxury hotel with around 30 years of history. The nicest thing about the Hebei Grand is its location, in the quieter, and greener section of eastern Shijiazhuang. The hotel is well located for transport, just 4km from the railway station and 3km from the entrance to the Jing-Shen Highway. The hotel has both foreign exchange and a laundry service.
The Hebei Sunshine Hotel (Hebei yangguang dasha) is located to the south of the city center. It is about 8km from the railway station and 78km from the airport. The hotel has a total of 181 rooms and all are equipped with air-conditioning, satellite television, mini-bars and IDD telephones.For recreational purposes the hotel has a night club, a sauna, a gym, a bowling center, tennis and squash courts, an indoor swimming pool, billiards and a shopping arcade.
Shijiazhuang International Building Hotel
The Shijiazhuang International Building Hotel (Shijiazhuang guoji dasha) is located on the Changan Xi Road, and about 25km from the airport and 2km from the railway station. There are 240 rooms in this 16 floor building, including standard double and business rooms, equipped with colour TV, telephone, fridge and air conditioning.For recreation, the hotel has a bar, disco, massage canter, billiards room, beauty salon and gym.
Shijiazhuang World Trade Plaza Hotel
The World Trade Plaza Hotel(Shimao guangchang jiudian) is close to the Hebei Provincial Museum and the Shijiazhuang Zheng Ding Airport is 38km away.There are 238 guest rooms and 32 suites, all elegantly decorated and equipped with advance facilities including dataport. The hotel boasts three restaurants providing delicious Brazil grill, western and Cantonese cuisine.The hotel is well known for it business facilities.
Shijiazhuang Xi Mei Business Hotel
As a four-star hotel Ximei Business Hotel is located at the downtown business area near the Peoples Square. It has convenient transportation, only 2 km away from the railway station and the bus station.The hotel has over 220 suites of various rooms with comfortable and good equipments. Both the lobby and the meeting room have internet access.
Yan Chun Hotel (Yanchun Fandian) is a 4 star hotel located in CBD of the city, taking People’s Square, the municipal government, a cinema and Beiguo Shopping Mall as its neighbours. It is only 10-min drive from Jing-shen and Jing-shi Expressway and 30-min from the airport. Hence the transportation is relatively convenient.There are 152 rooms/suites, which are equipped with facilities like central air-conditioner, IDD/DDD, satellite TV, etc.
Shijiazhuang Yanchun Garden Hotel
The Yanchun Garden Hotel (Yanchun huayuan jiudian) is a four star hotel located in the city center, near some of the government building. The hotel has 185 guestrooms, all nicely decorated and equipped with basic amenities.The hotel has Chinese and western restaurant, as well as a coffee shop. There are also four different size meeting rooms and a business center that provide fax, photocopying and basic secretarial service.
The Yanshan Hotel (Yanshan dajiudian) is a four star facilities hotel located in the city center, about 5 minutes from the railway station and long distance bus station.The hotel has different type of guestrooms including standard rooms, single rooms and executive rooms. All rooms are nicely decorated and equipped with modern facilities. The executive rooms have high speed internet access.
Shijiazhuang Yatai Grand Hotel
The Yatai Hotel (Yatai dajiudian) is located on Qingyuan Street, adjacent to the television tower. It is just 2.5km from the railway station and 30km from the airport.This hotel is a three star with a total of 250 guestrooms, either single, standard or deluxe. There is also a presidential suite. All of the rooms are equipped with DDD/IDD telephones, satellite televisions and central air-conditioning.
The Yinhe Hotel (Yinhe binguan) is located in the Qiaodong District, about 7km from the city center. This three star hotel is about 28km from the airport and 2.5km from the railway station.The hotel has 200 guestrooms, ranging from standard rooms to deluxe suites. All are of fairly medium standard. There is a business center that offers telex, DDD/IDD telephones, fax, typing and photocopying services and also some variously sized meeting rooms, a health clinic and a shopping arcade.
Shijiazhuang Zhengding Guohao Grand Hotel
Located at the famous historic city Zhengding, Guohao Hotel is the first four-star hotel of the county. It is 15km away from the airport and the railway station, 2km away from the Beijing-Shenzhen Expressway, 5km from the Shijiazhuang-Taiyuan Expressway and next to No.107 National Road. It is also close to the well-known scenic spot Longxing Temple and Zhengding Training Base of National Table-tennis Team.
Shijiazhuang Zhongjing Grand Hotel
The Zhongjing Grand Hotel (Zhongjing dajiudian) is a three star hotel located at the center of Shijiazhuang, 40km from the airport and 3km from the railway station. This hotel boasts a total of 218 rooms, ranging from single rooms to presidential suites. All of these are equipped with air-conditioning, IDD telephones and satellite television.Beyond the rooms, the hotel has both Chinese (and one western) restaurants which serve Sichuan, Cantonese and Chaozhou cuisine.
