Ever since the construction of the three cable car routes and the road stretching half way up the mountain, it has become increasingly easy for visitors to make the trek up this holy mountain. Today, it is possible to complete the trip up the Mountain within a day, and many travelers choose to stay in Taian city itself.

There are various hotels in Taian and the four star Taishan Overseas Chinese Hotel is arguably the best choice. Besides this,the Taishan Hotel and Dongfang Hotel also provide sound accommodation and facilities.

However, the best way to appreciate the mountain is on foot, and if possible, to stay the night and catch the sunrise. There are a few hotels along the route up to the summit such as the Shenqi Hotel. Compared to the hotels in Taian, those on the mountain are more expensive, largely due to the fact that goods and necessities have to be carted up the mountain on foot.
