This festival began in 2002, and is a great annual event held from the end of September to mid-October on the biggest avenue beside the river (Yanjiang Dadao). It is somewhat like a carnival in western countries; joyful crowds of thousands, streets ablaze with activity, grand parades accompanied by Chinese drum groups. Artists and performing groups from different regions of China and from other countries are invited and present wonderful music, dancing and acrobatic performances. The events last for more than twenty days. If you are going to be in Wuhan during this time, it is recommended that you don’t miss the Wuhan International Tourist Festival.
Date: Late September - Mid October (the exact date will be provided when published by the municipality authorities.).
Place: Yanjiang Dadao Street in Hankou.
