Sight Overview
The Dragon Light Pagoda in Xihui Park is the best spot for a
panoramic view of Taihu Lake. Turtle Head Isle also boasts spectacular views over the surrounding lake; the Lingshan Buddha finished in late 1996 is well known as the biggest standing Buddha icon in China. Like other nearby Jiangnan cities, Wuxi has several classical gardens, each with its own distinctive character. The Plum Garden provides an insight into classical Chinese understanding of space and dimension, as you gaze at plum trees through the lattices, pavilions and moon gates, and see their reflections in the mirror-like ponds. Li Garden is a labyrinthine mix of bridges, pavilions, fish ponds and causeways.
