Taxis around Wuxi are plentiful and reliable, and an excellent way to get to where you want to go. You will rarely have to wait for more than a minute to hail a taxi, in fact if you stand by the road as a lost-looking foreigner they will often honk gently as they pass slowly by to see if you want a ride.

The fare starts at 8 yuan, and for most places within the city this is sufficient. Going somewhere in the outer city limits is likely to cost around 20 � 30 yuan.
