A short walk east of here, the Tang Dynasty Arts Museum (daily) 8am-5pm;RMB15) is not as good as it could be, considering the wealth of relics from this age, regarded as the high point of Chinese arts. Nevertheless, it doe contain some excellent pieces, mostly pottery horses and camels and tricolored glazed figures, including among the usual range of warriors and courtiers a couple of stuffy-looking bureaucrats in elaborate costumes. The exhibits are dated but have no English captions.
