Long-distance buses, which are much faster than the train, arrive either at the train-station c0n- course or the bus station, about 1km east of the town centre. A service from Linfen in Shanxi and Ynlin in the north, close to tine border with Inner Mongolia, also arrives here.
There are long-distance buses to destinations such as Baotou in Inner Mongolia (a rough but captivating ride), and one bus daily to Hukou Falls (see p.263), a ten-hour trip.
