Day 01: Arrival in Beijing
Our guide will pick you up at Beijing airport and transfer you to the 5-star Hotel. This newly decorated hotel is located on the famous Wangfujing Street. After checking in, you will have free time when you may like to have a stroll in the traffic-free street and absorb something of the vibrant atmosphere of Beijing and maybe seek out a cafe or restaurant for your dinner.
Day 02: Beijing
Before starting the tour, you will meet the other members of your group this morning during the pre-tour briefing in the hotel. Your first stop is the impressive Tian’anmen Square. From there you will enter the ‘Imperial Palace’ known as the Forbidden City to explore its many fascinating halls and pavilions. You will then go to the Temple of Heaven, the place where the Emperors worshipped the Heaven for good harvests. To round off a memorable start to your tour, we will expend US$15.00 net for each member of the group to arrange a delicious Beijing Duck Dinner at the original, century-old Quan Ju De restaurant followed by a lively Peking Opera performance at the Liyuan Theatre.
Day 03: Beijing
This morning you will be taken to Badaling where you will experience at first hand the wonder of the Great Wall. To avoid having lunch at the shopping site restaurant, we specially arrange your lunch served at a local popular Sichuan Food restaurant. Later the journey will take you to the Sacred Way and the Ming Tomb in the peaceful shadow of Longevity Mountain. After this day spent climbing Great Wall, we will arrange a buffet dinner at the cost of $11.00 net per person in your hotel to make sure you can have enough time to rest before dinner.
Day 04: Beijing - Xian
You will take an afternoon flight to Xian after visiting the Summer Palace. A visit to the traditional Farmers’ Caves is scheduled along the way to the downtown district and your 5-star Hotel. This evening you will enjoy a Cantonese Cuisine dinner at the expense of US$15.00 net per person at the famous local restaurant, Canton Palace.
Day 05: Xian
The visit to the majestic Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum will start your today’s tour. To avoid the poor food at the site, you will take highway back to downtown to have buffet lunch at the 4 star hotel, Gloria Plaza. In the afternoon, you will visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the mighty City Wall. After you enjoy the best Cantonese Cuisine banquet, which costs approximately US$18.00 net per person this evening at the most famous local restaurant, you will be transferred to the Tang Dynasty Palace where a splendid evening is in store when you will be entertained with the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show.
Day 06: Xian - Chongqing
Following a visit to the Provincial History Museum, you will visit the Great Mosque. After having the famous local speciality, the Dumpling banquet, you will fly to Chongqing. Visit the Panda House in Chongqing Zoo, time permitting. Here a rich buffet dinner of US$11.00 net per person served at the 4 star hotel, Holiday Inn Yangtze will precede your boarding of the deluxe German-built 5-star cruise ship, China Regal, where you will spend the night.
Day 07: Chongqing - Fengdu
At 08:00 am your memorable Yangtze River tour begins. In the afternoon the ship will stop at Fengdu, where you will visit the Ghost City, famous for its temple dedicated to the King of the Underworld, an association dating back to the Han Dynasty.
Day 08: Badong - Xiling Gorge - Sandouping
You will visit Badong and take a small junk for a close-up view of the breath-taking natural splendors along the Shennong Stream. You are sure to be impressed by the dexterity the team of trackers as they push and haul the wooden sampans over the rapids. Back to China Regal to continue your cruise into the western section of the Xiling Gorge and pass through the five-step ship lock.
Day 09: Sandouping
Your morning excursion to Crock Hill will enable you to have a panoramic view of the Three Gorges Dam Project. The sheer size of the dam and the exhibition hall with the Dam model will pleasantly surprise you. View the splendid flood discharge where after, you will experience the floodwater surging across the largest dam ever built.
Day 10: Wuhan - Shanghai
After arrival in Wuhan at around mid-day, you will visit the Hubei Provincial Museum. After lunch served at the famous Sanwuchun Restaurant, you will take a flight to Shanghai and transfer to the 5-star Hotel. Your evening will be free for you to explore something of Shanghai and maybe sample your dinner at one of the many cafes or restaurants there.
Day 11: Shanghai
The first stop of today is an old town near Shanghai, Qibao, whose old style makes it completely different from modern Shanghai. You will then be transferred downtown city to visit the Shanghai Museum and the beautiful Yuyuan Garden. Then you will have some free time to stroll along the Bund to experience the thrills of old Shanghai. After all the visits, you are invited to the specially arranged flavor dinner served at the famous Central Hotel, where US$18.00 net will be spent for each of you at its restaurant of over 260 years, Wang Bao He, which is the best place to serve Shanghai Cuisine.
Day 12: Shanghai - Guilin
You will have the morning free to explore this city by yourselves. After lunch, you will board a flight to Guilin. After checking in to the 5-star Hotel, you will visit the Elephant Trunk Hill, as its name implies, it is quite a remarkable example of the hand of nature upon the landscape.
Day 13: Guilin - Yangshuo - Guilin
Enduring memories are created as you cruise down the Li River to Yangshuo. You will visit a local villager’s home to experience the farmer’s lifestyle there. You will enjoy the sunset over the fields with the cooking smoke rising over the local villages whilst riding along the country lanes, which we feel sure will be one of the most memorable parts of your tour. If you feel tired, you can take our electric car instead of taking bicycles. Then you will be transferred back to Guilin to stay overnight in Sheraton. (Tips: Since the lunch on the Li River cruise can not meet your expectation, TCG suggests that you have enough breakfast at the hotel today.)
Day 14: Guilin - Hong Kong
After visiting the Reed Flute Cave and the delightful Seven Star Park, you will take a flight to Hong Kong. Our Hong Kong guide will transfer you to the 5-star Hotel, which is located in the most affluent area of Hong Kong, Tsimshatsui.
Day 15: Hong Kong
In the morning you will have a half-day Hong Kong Island Tour, starting with a peak tram ride to the mid-level of Central District, then on to the Victoria Peak. You will then visit the Repulse Bay, Aberdeen and the Stanley Market. After lunch, you will be transferred to the Pier to board a taking Star Ferry to Kowloon side. Walk along the waterfront promenade back to hotel, our tour guide will see you into the lobby to say bon voyage. You will have the afternoon free to explore and shop by yourselves.
Day 16: Departure from Hong Kong
After breakfast, you will travel to the airport for your homeward flight by yourselves. However, should you wish to stay on rather than return home right away, we would suggest you choose our City Tour Packages as an extension to your China adventure!
