Sight Overview
Six years ago, there were just a few drab sights and mediocre beaches in Yantai. But things are different now. Yantai has become one of the best coastal tourist destinations in Shandong province. It has numerous islands, beautiful gulfs and fine beaches along its 900-kilometre-long coastline. With islands and beaches developed, cultural and historical sites renovated, more and more visitors pour in to enjoy the charm of the city.
The Long Islands off the shore has distinctive natural features while the Horse-rearing Island is proud of its “imperial status”: It was named by the China’s first emperor. The historical and cultural sites of Yantai include the Yantai Museum and the peaceful Yuhuangding Park and Temple.
