Yunnan (Beautiful Clouds in the South) Province is the most southwest region of China bordering the countries of Vietnam, Laos, and Burma. Yunnan Province borders Guizhou Province and Guangxi Zhang Autonomous Region to the east, Chongqing and Sichuan to the north, and Tibet Autonomous Region to the northwest. Yunnan encompasses 394,000 square kilometers (152,084 square miles) and has a population of more than 42 million people.

Yunnan Highlights - Tourist Attractions of  Yunnan.

Stone Forest (Shi Lin), located outside of the capital city of Kunming, is one of the world’s natural wonders.  Kunming has many interesting temples and parks such as Daguan Park, Black Dragon Pool, Zheng He Park, Bamboo Temple, Golden Temple, and the Western Hills, to name only a few.Ancient city of Dali and one of the most attractive scenic regions in Yunnan, is extremely rich in both natural beauty, and cultural heritage.      

Lijiang is famous for its gorgeous mountains, old towns and villages and the survival of one of the world’s oldest folk cultures. The imposing Yulong Snow Mountain, is one of the best glacier mountains in China, with a total of thirteen peaks. 

There are also numerous scenic spots around Erhai Lake, including Butterfly Spring, Little Putout, Nanzhao Island, Xizhou and Erhai Park.

Yunnan Transportation - Getting to  Yunnan and moving around.

 By Air :  Kunming Wujiaba International Airport  has managed to connect the city with other places within Yunnan, in China, and even around the world.  Flights are available to most major Chinese cities such as Beijing (3 hours), Shanghai (2.5 hours), Chengdu (1 hour), Guangzhou (1 hour), Guilin (1.25 hours) as well as international destinations such as Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Flights to regional Yunnan tourist destinations (Baoshan, Jinghong, Lijiang, Manshi, Xiaguan and Zhaotong) are generally available . There are fights linking Lijiang and Kunming, and also direct flight from Shanghai to Lijiang. In peak season, there are be extra flights and schedules may alter accordingly.     

By Train: There are two railway stations in Kunming.
The main railway station (also known as Nanyao station) is located about 4 km from the city, a RMB10 taxi ride that takes about 15 minutes. Apart from bus lines that link the railway station with the airport, bus No.68 runs to the Expo ‘99 Garden and bus No.80 runs to the Xiyuan bus station. Most hotels in Kunming have rail ticket booking services.

By Bus : First we have to arrive to Kunming, it is the transport hub of Yunnan tourism  . Kunming is a transit point while tourists are visiting other tourist scenic spots in Yunnan Province, . There are  7 State Road  (108,213,214,320,321,323,326 National Road), 61 provincial highway, whith which we can reach to  the  domestic and foreign cities
