The train station is located about 7km away to the northeast; trains are met by waiting minibuses
which take you into town for RMB3. As no trains actually originate in Zhangye, moving on is easiest by bus. The western station handles traffic heading west, as does the main station, which additionally has services to all parts of Gansu Province, and also to Xining in Qinghai over a spectacular mountain route.
Whether you get asked to show a PICC certificate depends on who serves you. The PSB is on the fourth floor of a building on Qingnian Xi Jie, east of Mu TA.
