mplex of imperial tombs in the central China.
Situated in Gongyi City, the tombs take great pride as the key historical and cultural relics of national value. Buried here are 7 of the total 9 emperors of the Northern Song Dynasty, together with the father of the first emperor, 21 empresses and nearly 300 princes, princesses, major generals and ministers such as Bao Zheng the model clean official in the ancient Chinese history and Kou Zhun, a greatest tomb area is formed and now a grand view is presented. At present Yongzhao Tomb has been opened to visitors after a complete restoration. It is located in the urban Gongyi, about 70 kilometers west of Zhengzhou districts. Yongding Tomb located 9 kilometers southwest of Gongyi proper is another well-protected one and a choice sight. The most eye-catching of the imperial tombs now should be the grand stone sculptures which are the only cluster of the Song Dynasty sculpture in the whole country, with distinguished artistic and historical values.
