Sight Overview
Enriched by a history of more than 3,000 years, Zhenjiang is best known for the nearby “Three Hills” (San shan), namely Jinshan, Jiaoshan and Beigushan. Located by the Yangtze River, dotted with temples, pagodas and pavilions, all of them offer great views that recall some of the best of China’s traditional pastoral paintings.
Within the city itself, Daxi Lu, which stretches from east to west, is where the old city lies. At the western end, Zhenjiang Museum houses numerous artistic and cultural relics. The museum is set in the splendor of the former British Consulate.
